| President's Message
We are pleased you have shown interest in the Illinois Medical District. The District includes 560 acres of medical research facilities, labs, biotech business incubator, raw development area, universities, and over 40 healthcare related facilities. The Illinois Medical District Commission is a seven-member body charged with operating the Chicago Technology Park, assembling and redeveloping land to enhance the district, and coordinating services such security and transportation amongst the institutions within the District.
We are indeed proud of the many Biotech businesses that started with a handful of researchers on a limited budget in our incubator facility and are now achieving multi-million dollar volume. We are proud of the synergy created between our major institutions within the District; Rush University Medical Center, University of Illinois Medical Center, Cook County Bureau of Health Services, and the Veterans Administration Healthcare System. With the construction of a new Cook County Hospital, UIC-Ambulatory Care Facility, and Rush Medical Center Research Facility; we are excited about creating and investing medically related economic development and research in Illinois. Please enjoy the IMD Web Site.
